Our History

Checkout our adventures starting in 2022.

April 2022

Kolomoki Mounds State Park, GA

Goose did not know about the burial grounds and possible human sacrifices. We left quickly in the morning.

April 2022

Providence Canyon State Park, GA

Our first full podcast episode is about this park! Pretty place, interesting story.

April 2022

O’Leno State Park, FL

Huge thanks to the guy who helped us find the bathrooms. It was a freaky “The Hills Have Eyes” moment for us. Turns out, plenty of friendly house cats run around. You just can’t see them.

April 2022

Skidaway Island State Park, GA

Great boardwalk, great people, great tiny hermit crabs! We found an almost perfect pinecone.

April 2022

Unicoi State Park and Lodge, GA

The journey scared us. The bear warnings made us grateful we skipped the tent for once. Our car never smelled so much like fast food before.

April 2022

William B. Umstead State Park, NC

We’ve been here several times. Easy hikes, nice sights. (It’s a more recent picture of Grackle.)

September 2022

Cliffs of the Neuse State Park, NC

Not sure the season was right. A great hike with husbands, kiddo, and senior Scooby. Nice “phone” interview exhibit.

October 2022

Medoc Mountain State Park, NC

Charlie stole our hearts and the show. Goose tries out her new dark room tent.

November 2022

Stone Mountain State Park, NC

Goose works on some photography. The rain kept us away from the dome. Maybe we’ll be back.

June 2023

Carver’s Creek State Park, NC

A park in two parks, we tested pack carrying, hiked a bit to far, and had a picnic.

June 2023

Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, NC

Solo Grackle visit, accidently hiked a mountain.

June 2023

Eno River State Park, NC

Grackle’s solo adventure to the pump station ruins. Revist with Goose and Gosling August 16th.

September 2023

Myrtle Beach State Park, SC

Road trip with Duke’s Yard Homestead! Beautiful beach, surprisingly close airport.

September 2023

Hampton Plantation State Historic Site, SC

A former rice plantation that details its past. Worth the house tour! Saw Bob Raynor and his book talk with Duke’s Yard Homestead.

September 2023

Huntington Beach State Park, SC

Breathtaking views, a beach, and home of the Atalaya Castle. Best $2 spent on seeing this massive home with Duke’s Yard Homestead! Who casually keeps bears for their work?!

May 2024

Falls Lake State Recreation Area, NC

Tons of access points, Greg and Grackle found the perfect picnic spot by the water.

May 2024

Fort King George State Historic Site, GA

Great educational layout, nice natural trail back to the main building. It’s Grackle’s first Jr Ranger experience!

May 2024

Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation State Historic Site, GA

Definitely going back for the tours and museum! Ran out of time and it was the heat of the day.

June 2024

Cherry Creek State Park, CO

A beautiful hike wrapped up before the thunder rolled in!

June 2024

Chatfield State Park, CO

Worth the stunning views, this is an easy to drive park.

August 2024

Jockey’s Ridge State Park, NC

Dunes are even larger than they appear.
