What’s all this about?

We dream big and camp cheap. We set our sights on seeing every park in the U.S.!

We decided to see every state park, state historic site and state recreation area. We used park passports (the stamping kind, not the parking pass type) and brochures to make our own map of every site. There’s 3,503 places to go!

While we do this we started a podcast about the history of parks we go to and mini SnackPack episodes about camping, hiking, driving, and our misadventures.

Collect stamps with us. Make mistakes with us. Enjoy the outdoors with us!

Thank you for riding along.

Meet Us!

We’ve completed 6.8% of the Southeast Region! That’s 33 out of 486 parks.

Grackle completed 0.7% of the Rocky Mountain Region. That’s 2 of the 276 parks.

Here’s what we look like

Here’s the team. The hosts? The gear testers?

This is the team behind Grackle and the Goose

Lady Grackle

Bringing the organization and making the plan, it’s the Grackle!

The Goose

Bringing the “just do it” and “ah right let’s go”, it’s the Goose.

Gosling

Offspring of Goose, who adventures along. He’s sometimes indirectly in photos, and our main tester of kid gear.

Scooby

Resident old man dog. He’s slowing down and set in his ways. A doll at camp, 50/50 on the trail.

Munchkin

Young pup, new to the experience. Sweet and ready to please, still learning to be brave and not afraid of yard signs.

Great Egret (Greg)

Grackle’s husband and the podcast producer who makes us sound good. He’ll camp when no one can go with Grackle.

Bald Eagle

Goose’s more stable half. Main quests include: a happy Goose, a happy Gosling, and a peaceful landing pad.

Catamaran

AKA Dirty Little Street Kitty. Thinks she’s a person, and wants to be treated like one, thank you. Likes to oversee gear and video recording.

Taz

Taz’s preferred adventure is forcing his way into neighbors’ homes and demanding attention and snacks. He likes to inspect the filming process.
